🔊 What the sound bank contains

Conceived by Joachim Garraud and the co-composers of the Joachim Garraud & Friends album (released in 2024), this collection gathers over 300 samples inspired by 90s techno sounds, for over 1 GB of original and authentic WAV files:

  • Kicks, basses, and drums ready to hit (132 to 140 BPM): tonal kicks, acid bass, TB-303 one-shots, and loops

  • Full rhythmic loops (RYTHM 01 to 24, 131–140 BPM) to lay down a club foundation in seconds

  • Rave stabs, synth leads, pads, and French Touch-style chords

  • FX and signature elements: risers, white noise builds, reverse crashes, impacts, vocal shots ("We Are Back"!), and file names that seem to be nods to the album's contributors (LUQUET LEAD, JONCOUR, ARKISKA, T99 ANASTASIA…)

Each file is named, tempo-labeled, and organized for immediate use in Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, or any other DAW. An ideal resource to enrich your productions with textures and sound elements signed by recognized artists, at a price that defies any serious competition: €4.99.

🛸 The story behind these sounds: an album made by and for the community

These samples don't come from an anonymous lab: they are extracted from a unique human adventure, told in full in I Love My DJ Life, the book by Joachim Garraud (available here).

In an unprecedented collaborative approach, Joachim and the Space Invaders community embarked on an ambitious musical project: the creation of a double vinyl album inspired by the revolutionary sounds of the years 1988 to 1994. Born from livestreams launched during the Covid crisis, the project found its stage on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Discord: with over 1,200 active members on Discord, the community became a pool where every idea found an echo and every contribution took shape. Approximately 300 producers collaborated closely, guided by Joachim during live composition sessions: everyone brought their personal touch, chose samples, and contributed to the crucial decisions for each track, while Joachim shared his knowledge via instructional videos on mixing and mastering. The community even collectively decided on the visuals, titles, and artistic directions, creating an evocative visual identity inspired by spaceships. At the end of the adventure, around 40 co-composers, the majority of whom had never gone beyond the hobby stage, were registered with SACEM and co-sign their first track alongside Joachim (Discogs).

On June 15, 2024, the album even had its own stage (the Green Stage) at the Elektric Park festival, where the co-composers took turns all day long in front of thousands of festival-goers — for many, a first of rare intensity. The collaborative album, inspired by the revolutionary sounds of 1988 to 1994, was also pressed on numbered collector's double vinyl, in a limited edition of 300 copies (Discogs) and is available to stream with its 16 tracks (Spotify).

By purchasing this sound bank, you aren't just downloading a simple pack: you are acquiring the sonic DNA of an album co-created by a community, designed by a producer who has been working with these machines for forty years.

And a fun touch: some names in the sound bank use those of the album's contributors — JG_FRDS_LEAD_JONCOUR (Nicolas Joncour), JG_FRDS_CHORDS_ARKISKA (Arkiska), JG_FRDS_LUQUET_LEAD… so many signatures hidden within the files.

🎹 Forty years of expertise in every sample

Joachim Garraud literally grew up with the machines that defined the 90s sound. As he recounts in I Love My DJ Life (order here), he bought his Roland TB-303, the famous box that gave birth to acid house, and spent nights on the Atari and Akai S1000 sampler crafting sound by digging through vinyl records. No sample banks back then: everything was done by ear, with a microphone, at nightfall.

This is exactly the state of mind this bank breathes: kicks that slam like at the Rex, rave stabs worthy of 1992 rave parties, acid loops that twist the spectrum — all produced with the care of a sound craftsman who has remixed and produced for David Guetta, Jean-Michel Jarre, Bob Sinclar, Kylie Minogue, Cerrone, Deep Dish, or even Moby (Wikipedia), and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2006 for the remix of Deep Dish's Flashdance (Wikipedia).
